Wrong Planet is paraded as the community for people with autism (mostly aspergers) but are the mods abusing their powers? Some people were ban worthy however, there were people that did nothing wrong that were banned. Some were apart of the community for a long time, others were not.
Some people get warnings in threads that aren't offensive citing that it is offensive while some others have flat out said some cruel things aimed at autistics and their threads remained opened.

You are right and that was really asshattish of them to lock the thread you made. Sinsboldly is an extreme authoritarian. I'm not banned but the authoritarianism and trolling by mods is appalling.

I was banned for a few things I said tongue in cheek or me questioning certain subjects. Like saying black guys ae hung like horses, like no-one's said that before right? Also for questioning whether people were born gay or not. I had that nicknackattack saying he likes a cock up his ass and stuff, and calling me a retard and every insult under the sun, he didn't get banned, but I did. Maybe merle is bi. The main reason she banned me though was cause I trusted her and said I wanted to delete my profile, she said its not possible. I said i'll talk to Alex. She obviously felt undermined me, and banned me. What a sad pathetic old woman she truely is. ReplyDeleteZoonic was banned for obvious reasons but he was allowed to belittle people for a while before anything was done about it. He also had sock puppets come in to defend him and it was obvious but the mods didn't do anything about it when he was posting.

ReplyDeleteSame here. I have been banned by a mod after he deliberately antagonized me with his name calling/accusations. I simply replied that he needed to drop his issue and that unless he could prove what he was stating,he was in violation of the channel rules. I then got banned. I was in #wrongplanet-alt and asked to speak to an op regarding an ongoing issue. I then got banned from there as well. I have also went to their #wrongplanet-unreg channel and asked if there was a mod available that I could speak to via pm. I was told no there was not and to use the email address. Well, lol! I used it. No response was given. I also sent Alex an email and got no response. I was also told to change my name from a female name to a male name NUMEROUS times and told or even kicked for it. This is discrimination against people who do not fit a heterosexual or so called propper gender mold. It was being implied that the reason was because I was a predator. That is total bullshit. There are lots of other people in #wrongplanet that are transgender/transitioned or transitioning from male to female and they are not being banned for using a female name. I am being singled out because I do not fit their idea of someone who should be permitted to use a female name. How in the hell do they know what is going on in my head or in my pants for that matter?

Remember when there was the guy on wrongplanet who was threatening to kill himself and other people and Alex didn't do anything? Alex couldn't be bothered with it, even though the mods at the time were all trying to find out where this guy was located. Alex knew because of the guys IP address, but Alex couldn't be bothered. A few days later, the guy goes out and kills 2 or 3 people and himself. Then, what do you know, Alex can finally be bothered with it, but as long as it's to promote wrongplanet and to get on TV. Alex used some guy killing people to promote wrongplanet. Alex don't give a shit about any of ya. It's all about making money to pay his bills and what not.

ReplyDeleteI would have to say a lot of people are not being banned for potty talk at all. People in there tend to get banned when they stand up for themselves. The people who do the potty talk are typically either ops or friends of ops. Ops will accuse you of sending someone in to harass them when in actuality it appears THEY are the ones doing just that.

I'm thinking of putting together a petition to have Wrong Planet removed from the links pages of other Autism support websites because they are actively harmful to AS sufferers, I'll have to sleep on the idea.

It is a haven for self-diganosed people who have failed in life and are now using a medical condition as an excuse for that, and for high IQ losers who never made anything of themselves and also use AS as an excuse for that. My guess is that a lot of banned users who have such conditions do not have much support and really need a place to be able to realize they are NOT wrong simply because they were banned or an op has told them they are being bad. People then wonder why the channels get trolled. Some of the people who come in and spam the channels are pissed off because they have been mistreated. That makes good sense to me. They are often so very upset that when they spam, what they say does not have a valid point or may simply include comments about some op being gay or transgender. I have quietly sat in their forum and constantly seen people banned who more than likely should not have been. They have many good people but the bad ones really ruin it. Also, I have noticed that there are a lot of people in there who seem to portray themselves as highly intelligent in an attempt to get popularity and thus gain respect from others. Basically a big ego trip.

A few seemed nice until I took our communications to off-site email and then they turned on me over my AS-related excuses. How can they have AS if their social skills almost as good as an NT if not equally as good as an NT? Even PsychCentral's message board is not much better - good luck if you decide to join it. At least they'll let you cancel your account but they keep your posts when you tell them you wanna cancel. That still is not Aspie/Autie friendly!

I mean, some are positive about being Aspie, but that seems to have diminished. Perhaps due to a new wave of users who are self-hating Autistics, drowning out the positive discussion? There's just too much self-hatred. It's as if they've never questioned the professionals or the "normalcy" paradigm. They're not up to date on activism, either. I mean, they still separate Autistics into "low-functioning" and "high-functioning." Functioning labels are obviously BS, and yet they use them in order to feel a sense of supremacy, perhaps. Though there's even some who try to say vaccines cause Autism!! And actually expressing yourself in your own way is a no-no. You must act a certain way when communicating. They actually tell you not to use your neurology as an "excuse." And yes, the so-called Aspies there DO, in fact, act like bullies. And they don't exactly think outside of the box. I talked to one mod that was obsessed with teaching the members how to wash dishes. That may be a good lessen, but it is not in the job description of that person.
We don't need them to guide us by the hand. Those of us with ASD can develop our own forum, and run it together. The above post was correct.
When WP announced they acquired Autism Speaks I expected Autism Speaks to lose their fame and prominence. They have not. I thought WP had bought out Autism Speaks but it looks like it's the other way around.

I used WP many years ago, back when I was 12. Being 20 now, I tried joining up again, and it's turned into this cliquey, irritating, cringe worthy place where new members never get noticed. Nobody ever comments on your posts, unless you've got a reputation there.

They It seems like the only purpose of their email is to get MORE information about you when it is actually the MODS that are fucking up. The good mods seem to be caught in a shit ty situation because even if they try to straighten out a situation, the majority of the others will try to defend the one who is the agressor. There is a serious lack of freedom in there. Some mods will talk shit about users and then and it even looks like they are inviting either using sock puppets or sending in other people to degrade users. They state that if there is a problem, you should use @wpops. There the mod is sitting in the channel and giving you shit along with their friend. You do the whole @wpops thing and get banned. The problem is not corrected and then upon returning that you have been a bad boy. If an op has a personal hidden motive, they are free to fuck with you at will with regards to anything of their choosing including your sexuality, your penis, rather or not someone they like is a good person. If their friends lie about you without proof, it is all good. Alexander should take time to get rid of op's in there who are obviously not worthy of being an op.

ReplyDeleteThis is SpaceCase from wrongplanet. I used wrong planet from 2005 until about 2010. I will admit I was a bit popular there for a while and was never banned, but I stopped hanging out there after I saw too many things going on. Alex was a douche bag, and I saw other members get banned for stupid, petty things. The website just went downhill. Sad, it was really fun the first 2-3 years I was there, but then again, I was a teenager back then.

Autism is not the website's issue, the ongoing injustice is. The website is recognized by multiple members as not an autism one, it is a publisher disguised under the forum label to make sure it has protection before the law, that runs by different rules than forums do.
The political harassment goes to deception through different means, as well as following members around the forum and off the forum in an attempt to bully them. The voices of the people have been screaming for it to be closed down due to the detriment of the autism community, yet Alex stands selfish and greedy, completely against his claims of what the website begun as, a place for spectrum people to meet one another. If meeting one another means abusing one another, then no thanks.
Yes, Pepe is all right. Admittedly at first I got the wrong impression of him but after we spoke in PMs and off-site I've learnt for myself that he's a real nice guy and does not even compare to the bullies on WP at all. His views and opinions are mainstream, like myself and most others. The views and opinions expected on WP aren't mainstream, they're brainwash material and it's like you must think that way or else. The vast majority of sane members evacuated the site a long time ago and it is now overrun with morons who flood the place with conspiracy theories, misinformation, and hateful ideologies. ReplyDeleteOK, so I got treated differently on WP, like when I posted one post about poop it got deleted but one member can repetitively post updates about his poop that can actually be quite triggering, and none of their posts get deleted. That's not the only double standard but it's one of them. So, feeling like I was treated atrociously on WP and feeling in distress, I ranted about it on AF and got a ban from WP, and the twatty mod told me I was lying, when I wasn't. So now he's letting the site "pay me back" by allowing badmouthing me go on, probably for eternity.
