How you can spot it.
Signs-
Management or mods will take every action to cover their own butts. Will defend each other managers regardless of wrong doing. Others seeking management position will learn that in order to get where they want to be, they have to do the same. The problem with this is that even if a manager or mod does something bad against a company or website, the corrupt mods or managers will never learn from these mistakes because they will never admit to them. It forms into a clique that only cares about their clique and often these cliques will turn on others they view as "lowers" and will just cover it up so the boss won't see. Often fabrications take place.
You may also notice subtle and even flat out "us. vs them" tactics used but the managers turn it around and declare it's actually everyone else but them doing it.
Will never apologize for actions. If there are managers in training out of the clique, you may notice that manager deliberately comes in to impress the clique by proving they will lie and defend the other managers at all cost.
Will use many different methods of deceit including guilt, blackmail and lying about events often getting other managers to go along with it. If a boss is doing a good job and protecting his or her company, the boss will actually investigate and keep a watchful eye. Otherwise, the company may suffer as these corrupt managers care nothing about the company, only pretending to if it will earn them points.
You notice the only other types of people who get promoted to manager position or moderator are those that have the same mindset as the clique.
This behavior does not belong at Wrong Planet. It's everywhere you go but does it have to be at an aspie messageboard where it's not aspie like?
There is nothing wrong with having morals but now in today's society, the word moral is silenced and in it's place is political correctness trying to be the evil stepmother replacing moral codes with exclusiveness of who is allowed leniency and who you should bash for not having the PC shield.
I prefer to treat others with respect but I refuse to see why others think you should give them respect if they are going to constantly insult, belittle, harass and bully. So I guess today's society caters more towards sociopathic behaviors which is moral insanity because there have been several actions in the past to get rid of morals.
Now if you have morals or you aren't with the clique, you are discriminated against. Being an individual is just fine. Sorry some of the gang can't see the beauty but I can see through the B.S anyway.

ReplyDeleteSinsBoldly banned me after I had made a long series of anti-religion posts. She and I were having a PM discussion regarding religionists posting anti-science replies in the Science forum, and rationalists posting anti-religion replies in the Religion forum. She asked if I thought that the religionists were attacking science, and I replied, "Absolutely!" At this, she declared me a "Danger to WP" and immediately banned me.
While I can still log in to WP, the only things can do are modify my accout settings (sig line, in particular), and read my blog. I can not even read the PM's that seem to be piling up. And snce I can not write a PM, hhow do they expect me to appeal?
I did manage to re-connect with Makuronososhi, but he seems to only want me to agree to censorship of my posts before I can have my membership restored. While I respect the person behind the name, I can not agree to becoming a peon for the egos of the other mods.

I do not feel comfortable posting here here since "Sinsboldy" became a moderator. I told you at the time that I thought it was a very bad choice, because I have seen people like her before and it never ends well. She is driven by a need to control people...by hook or by crook.
I am one of the few people who actually has put myself out on a limb to fight for all of us to be accepted as equals. I can't handle being with people for more than an hour or two, but, in early July, I sat through an 8 hour tribunal as the contant target of a solicitor who was being paid a lot of money to break me...
...and, in all that I stood my ground, insisted that we were equal, worthwhile people, and made a lengthy aspect of that case around the fact that our "National Organisation" linked Maxine Aston and FAAAS but not WP...and spoke in glowing terms of WP as a renowned community under totally autonomous, autistic control...
I leave it to your imagination how I feel to have been "thanked" this way...

I'd rather not give you my real name.....but I am one who feels the same way about THEM like you do. Long story short, I was there for two months, they made my life hell, and then I was without a computer....what they did was send me a link to a website which contained a virus...this person posed as my friend and destroyed my computer....forcing us to get a new one. Then I took off and left the site. I took up the same name under fanfiction.net but then I became concerned that people might try and find me again so I changed my SN to something different. Nothing has happened. I'm glad I escaped that damned place. It's been nearly five years since I went on that site and I looked at it again, and realized....I'm never going back. How good it is to find someone else who feels the same!

ReplyDeleteWhen I have asked the mods to ask them to stop their response is generally "We agree with them. Oh, and by the way, you still haven't answered our accusations against you in this thread." The thread they link to is about 8 months old.
Asperger's or not I want nothing to do with the WP community. It is not really run by Alex Plank. It is run by a bunch of unbiased, power hungry, tyrannical jerks!

I mean I have been banned more times than I can count ad after having asked the reason why I was originally banned, the staff do not like me much and I "push the boundaries without actually breaking the rules, and I am not prepared to change my ways. Guilty as charged, just not banworthy I would not have thought.

I have Antisocial Personality Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome. I was banned because of my AsPD. The members seemed to enjoy my presence, but the mods had clear seething hatred for me because I wasn't an "Autastic" little ball of tears like the rest of their sniveling membership. I hope they all die in a house fire and their blackened flesh cracks open to liberate their boiling blood. I hope they experience all of this before their final breath, and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that no amount of rocking in the corner is going to undo the damage the flames have done.

DeleteTheir modus operendi seems to be having members constantly attack other users who don't conform to the collective thinking-then when they speak up the mods use the ban hammer and allow other users to bash that person without the ability to contest it. It seems to be a fraudulent in the sense that it claims to be for aspies, but more like trying to steal the real voices of aspies to promote their own agenda. It is intellectually dishonest on multiple levels. Aspies would be good to avoid this website and recognize it as the trash it is.

I have seen at least a couple of ops there state that users have sent in other users/members to attack ops. All along, it is highly apparent that they are doing that exact same thing. The easiest way for an op to ruin it for a user/member seems to be commonly used. What they tend to do is reffer to that person as being either a troll, not all there, a liar, or bring up someone elses claim and declare it truth, Other members seem to jump on the bandwagon. More people need to come visit your site and congregate in an effort to get the bad ops in there to conduct themselves in a more appropriate manner.

ReplyDeleteHere is what I see happening quite often: There are two ops in #wrongplanet who have a habit of mentioning alternate names of users or members. It is done under false pretenses that the individual they mention is either a troll or a liar or a stalker.OH! GET THIS! There is one more...evil! This is done to justify the mentioning of the users alternate names. It is also done in an effort to try to intimidate the user. They then make an accusation which has either not been mentioned by others, holds no merit, or does not even involve the channel. Those particular ops will or have definately had a habit of accusing users of bringing other people in to bother them. The very same thing they accuse others of, they appear to do as well. There is one difference though. When someone is suspected of doing the above stated activity, the suspect and the perceived assitant are either banned or kicked. When the op performs the very same actions, their reinforcements are not addressed for breaking rules of the channel. It boils down to those particular ops declaring someone is targeting others in the channel and that it is their duty to put a stop to such horrible acts. All along, they are doing the EXACT same thing they claim they are trying to prevent. I do hope others find your website.

ReplyDeleteI was banned for a month for the following reasons; "aggressive, personal attacks, racism". Frankly, it was unjust. I took it up with a moderator who had reprimanded me to clarify, was found banned this morning.
I can't say the personal attacks bit was strictly unfair (I was calling people childish for being sarky, just to clarify; I'd like to know if that really warrants a ban though. I don't personally think so, especially as I was provoked). Whatever, let it slide. What bothers me is, first, aggression. I wasn't once aggressive to anybody. Seriously, this is evident if you read the posts.
Anyway, the killing blow is racism. Not irrelevant and off the wall, but entirely lacking basis regardless. I had made claims and posted studies supporting my claims, based upon racial differences (it's controversial to claim race is more than skin deep; WrongPlanet is another "safe space" for PC culture and controlling Feminists).
I'm not kidding that all I did was make these claims and post the relevant studies. Seriously. This is how disgraceful the site has become...or perhaps always has been...?
At any rate, it was bad enough that I genuinely questioned if I was racist, as the claim originated from another snivelling, privileged, gutless member on the site. It made me think, "are they right? Am I racist?" No. Just abuse of power and an idiocracy that borrows ideas from, and caters primarily to, the special little snowflakes that constitute the passive-aggressive majority of the politics board.
By the way, will that particular member be banned or at least warned for referring to me as racist, effectively slander? I doubt it; used as an element of the trifecta that the administrative board had used to target me, they will probably inwardly be praised for contributing to my downfall.
It saddens and sickens me. I've been on legitimately unanimously friendly Autism boards; mods who care, mods who listen, a community who respects everything you say. Not this cesspit. Even if I have the ban revoked, I don't think I'm using this board again.
So anybody that's considering joining; don't. Find alternatives. For those that have been banned, and have felt like a criminal as I have for having it happen; don't. The moderators are a disgrace (save for a couple; there are genuinely good ones), the community (largely constituted by people who I suspect don't even have Autism) is weak and not accepting of you or your opinions, especially if they are controversial.
Do not use it, and spread the word. I don't want anybody with Autism to go through with even more of a Hell than their life already is. We don't need this stress.

I understand. I bet what you posted wasn't racist at all, they just choose to label it as racist because it wasn't PC enough. They don't seem to see the line between PC and respect. They think both mean the same thing. They don't. Respect comes naturally to me. PC is just rules using words coined by these entitled people to silence everyone with a central-right-wing opinion. The more people are forced to say and do things, the more they're going to rebel. It's human nature, and only brainwashed people think otherwise. I think I've developed a sort of PTSD from them 5-6 cunts on WP. I was unfairly called so many epithets there, that I've become paranoid that I am actually the world's biggest psycho. Seeing this blog has made me feel a bit better and less doubtful of myself but I do wish it was more recently created and more active.
ReplyDeleteAfter the latest wp hack, the trolls have come to AF to show off their trolling, as they took advantage of their precious wp site getting hacked and created new accounts to mess with the remaining community there further, and while the hacker's views were clearly against wp leadership, their thread turned into trolling members instead of criticizing wp. It's bannable to create new accounts, but regardless of it and them trolling everyone, the leadership at wp are completely incompetent.

Very interesting how while their behavior on wp is suicidal screaming 24\7 on af the same persons completely have a new personality for months, however their behavior is going rotten again, but the leadership isn't taking their crap and sure as hell isn't corrupt and biased like wp.
Then mods of wp showed up at AF, using personal names to say two people are not suspected of the hack, of course the people named didn't like that after years of abuse they just wanted to be left alone. Apparently that mod got Alex upset because it was supposedly against his orders and without his knowledge, something with the amount of lies told we would never be able to verify. Alex supposedly got upset with the mod as well aa started to doubt him, after all the lies it was time to doubt him I thought but Alex is full of it as well, and he is responsible for the chaos at wp, being the leader.
The "hug a member" type threads are a good way to tell who's in a clique, because usually the same names get mentioned by the same people. It all just gets on your nerves.
