I still read the thread that I was banned over. Sinsboldly sure does like to tell people "why don't you go somewhere else" "Why not start your own forum". Is this the goal? To chase off people and what is the purpose?

I was reading old threads and found wrong planet to be better in 2004. 5 years is a long time for a place to stay open with as many people as there are! Agree on the moderator issue though. :(

Telling people to start their own board is just a suggestion. If you don't like the rules of the place, you can create your own forum and make your own rules and allow anything you want there. A few WP members have done that. That's how intensitysquared was created, zomgaspies, and onthespectrum.
ReplyDeleteI do not think the rules are quite the problem. The problem is more that a mod can often do what the hell they want to because they have a stupid grudge against you. Maybe you have a complaint and you are being told to talk to the op you have a complaint with lol! Does that make sense at all? Take into consideration that the problem may be due to a personal issue the op has with you. The op is sitting there spitting game about the rules (basically bullshittint you) instead of admitting that they have an issue and dropping it. If they state that the channel is there for a certain purpose and that there are guidlines, the least that should be done is to attempt to maintain that purpose and treat people as equals. It ain't happening. Everyone needs to be honest and speak more freely. Otherwise, people are coming into there with the belief that it's all good when it is not. I often hear insults in the channel that someone is delusional yet, they expect people to live the lie that things are fair and just.

Right! I have for the longest time watched the rules get applied strictly towards certain individuals and then I soon see the exact thing occur with regards to myself. When you mention trolling and harassing, I surely have seen a lot of that. Here is what it looks like they do: You can be sitting there minding your own and all of a sudden someone comes. That person is using trigger words while pinging you like mad in order to get a response. It will be words like Nigger, Retard, faggot, and bitch. In my opinion, it surely appears that the person has been sent in by an op. When they get no response from the person they are trying to bother, they get kicked (after a while) by an op. It appears that an op may be upset because the bullshit they tried did not work so, the op then proceeds to you or make false accusations against you. When you calmly state that the op is in violation of the very rules they are supposed to uphold, you then get banned for it. I do not like what I am seeing in there but I surely would like to see positive change. I do not intend to leave voluntarily. I have been banned but if I am unbanned, Intend to take measures to address what is obviously wrong. They give you suggestions on what to do when you experience difficulty in the channels. People insult you/paint a crappy image of you. You complain and not a damned thing happens. If an op is being a bully, it is SURELY not going to be resolved. I have suggested contacting the channel owner and have done so as well. There is apparent change when he comes into the channel. When he stops showing up, it is back to the same old shit. I have had one particular op harass me regarding my use of a female name. He states that I should not be using a female name because I am male. I am sick of having to do a nut check every time I have entered their channel. It should be obvious. Using a female name when you are of male gender (at least in appearance) is not an indication of malicious intent. Maybe you are a transgender individual or maybe you are gender queer. With that I mean to say, there is surely discrimination. It is unwarranted and it is nothing more than a tool to justify bullying users over a stupid personal issue. Also, you will be told that the reason is because someone has complained. You get called a predator and stat that you want to make it clear you are not, the reply is that you get told not to bring it up when actually someone else did.
DeleteDW_mom claims that if you ask nicely you won't be banned anymore but then says that banned members aren't allowed to create new account so how are you supposed to ask nicely if you will be banned again for asking under another account?

I have no particular issue with Wrongplanet. I mean I have been banned more times than I can count ad after having asked the reason why I was originally banned, the staff do not like me much and I "push the boundaries without actually breaking the rules, and I am not prepared to change my ways. Guilty as charged, just not banworthy I would not have thought.

That is part of the problem. They ban you without stating the real reason or no reason at all. Often, the real reason is that an op has a personal issue with you and thus is banning you because you do not accept the lie they are stating about you OR they talk shit in order to portray an individual as bad and then tell the person to shut up or get banned. They actually WANT the person banned. That is why they do it!They do so in hopes of scarring people into doing some subtly non existant rule. You say you have no particular issue? How about the fact that you have been banned more times than you can count? Their freenode channels also seem to either be biased against LGTB community or what you have is an op here and there that seems to think it is fine to bother people if their name is not gender appropriate. Either you are guilty as charged and banworthy or you are a man who should have the right to be there regardless of rather or not an op has beef with you.
DeleteJust wanted to note that there is also http://aspiefriends.net . We have been around for years and it doesn't lack technical skills at all. Unfortunately, we are not social and do not comprehend marketing, so the site has been extremely unknown since it was created.
ReplyDeleteSomething kind of funny, some of the very op's I have problems with in #wrongplanet are also in the chat site you have posted. It looks like it is probably the same shit with different garnishings. I would not highly recommend going to that site because based on the rules of the channel, it looks like nothing more than a friendly who's who to get to know the people that have complaint so that they can be identified and thus, either kicked or banned from #wrongplanet at the discretion of the very assholes who you have problems with. Might prove entertaining though.
